Budapest is a stunning city and even though it’s fairly small by European capital standards, there are so many places to visit and things to see and do. I spent 5 days in Budapest and would go back in a heartbeat. As for the rest of the country, I only managed to get to Szentendre on a day trip from Budapest.

Where to Stay
In Budapest I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel just near the Chain Bridge. For a little over €100 per night I got to stay in this fantastic 5 star hotel which has a gym and swimming pool. Without me asking they upgraded me to a junior suite which made my stay even better. I loved the Sofitel and would stay there again but if you’re on a budget you can stay at the Ibis for €39 which is a real bargain for one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals.
