Parc des Buttes Chaumont

Yesterday was my first visit to the Parc des Buttes Chaumont in the 19th. I haven’t spent much time in the 19th so I was lucky to have Karin and Paul show me around and take me out for a drink at the Rosa Bonheur. It’s a man made park with a pretty lake and waterfall and from the temple at the top of the cliff you get great views of the Sacre Coeur and the 19th. This is a great picnic spot and hopefully I’ll make it back so I can get some better photos.

What a fabulous parc. I went there in May 2010 with Leesa and Barbara, we had a brilliant time. Just love the views from way up high .. :-)

How great that you met up with Karin and Paul , so brilliant that people are meeting up.

Everytime I come over we discuss places to see and make a choice between us .. This parc is not really in the tourist area , which suits me fine , I like to see where the locals go.

Love your photo of the waterfall.

It’s definitely a nice place to visit on a warm summers day. Unfortunately we don’t get many warm summer days here :P

I’d love to go back and explore a bit more. It’s like an hour from my house though! It’s a day trip really ;)

  6. Hey there! I finally made it here. :) It was so nice to hang out with you and get to know you better. I’m so glad the weather was nice for us, and wow! Your photos turned out great! I’m impressed with them!

Take care, and let’s set a date to go to Père Lachaise soon, eh?

I’m looking forward to visiting Pere Lachaise with you. Let’s set it up as soon as we’re both back in Paris :)

Hi there Andrea, just discovered your blog – very nice. I’ll reply to this first because 22 August is my birthday! I used to run around this park 15 years ago when I lived at Belleville and it truly is one of the most amazing Paris finds, and quite a lot of people don’t know about it. Nice photos!
